i have just read my RSS from mypapit’s blog and find an interesting article on how to find what causes your apache web server busy, You can run it on your cron or manually. The command is

tail -10000 access.log| awk ‘{print $1}’ | sort | uniq -c |sort -nThe result will be ip address that burden your ip address. you can follow it up with banning this IP address.

Blogdesk is awesome, i have made a tutorial on how to set up blogdesk for Wordpress blog engine. You may see it here. Blogdesk is the best blogging client i have ever tried. What i regret is that this software is not open source and multiplatform. But, overall this software is very handy and practical. Can support multiple blog engine (except blogger). I love using blogdesk for managing my Wordpress and Drupal websites.

PS: But this post is made with petrus blog client, a java based free and open source blog client that can run on all java runtime engine.

For example you have just installing a new partition using gparted, now you could do these steps to access your new partition:

$ cd /
$ sudo mkdir /data
$ sudo mount -t ext3 /dev/hda4 /data

Now you already access the new partition. If you want to check whether your new partition already mounted, use this command:

$ df -h

if you don’t want to access your partition each time your computer restarting, execute:

$ sudo cp /etc/fstab /etc/fstab.backup
$ sudo nano /etc/fstab

And add this new line on the fstab.

/dev/hda4 /data ext3 nodev,nosuid 0 2

Save the file and iexit.

What if it doesn’t work?

If anything goes wrong, you could use livecd linux and copy fstab.backup that you have backuped by executing

$ sudo mv /etc/fstab.backup /etc/fstab

Tags: fstab, linux, new partition, gparted

First, open Synaptic.

Second, search the program using certain keyword.

Choose the program to uninstall.

Apply.

This is what my bleezer looks like on my Desktop: It looks odd i guess.

To tell you the truth, Drivel is a little bit simpler than this program, but i guess every program has its own features and also lack of some features too.

After reading Vavai’s review about Bleezer, i tried it and using Bleezer to post some of my blog manuscripts. I found this program was easy to use, but the program is not robust on my Ubuntu. It suddenly hang while posting and the article’s categories seldom misleading.But i think it has some features i like most:

1. Multicategory support.
2. Tagging support.
3. Pinging support.

But Bleezer is far from perfect, below are things i frustated about Bleezer

1. WYSIWYG function hasn’t been perfect. BlogDesk WYSIWYG is easier to handle.
2. Java’s looks and feels is not as good as Windows or Mac OS.
3. i will add items later, after trying this "everyware" longer.

Overall, this software is great, it only needs a little bit modifications.

There are many plugins for WordPress that can be used to enhance WP’s functions. Amongst the important plugins are comments management plugins. These are some plugins i suggest:

1. Brian’s Threaded Comments — Will make comments look and feel resemble threads on web forums.
2. Brian’s Latest Comments — It will show the last commentator and it’s comment..
3. Comment Email Responder — This plugin will send private email on comments’ commentator of your blog via email if the comments are responded by someone else.
4. DoFollow — plugin to remove “nofollow” attribute on commentator’s link.
5. Edit Comments XT — plugin that allows commentator to edit his/her comment in certain amount of time.
6. Comment Karma — plugin that allows other visitor of your blog to rate other commen

There are many more plugins, but i think those plugins are already sufficient.
