I have used both softwares and i think blogdesk is faster and leaner. But post2blog has more features. So the better thing is using both of them….

You might be already know some softwares to create PDF, eg: Adobe Acrobat, GhostScript, PDFCreator, OpenOffice etc. You might be already know some softwares to edit PDF too, eg: Adobe Acrobat, Foxit PDF Editor.

Most of the PDF Editor softwares are proprietary and commercial. But i just found out that there is a reliable free and opensource PDF editor from accesspdf.com (used to be pdfhacks.com). It’s name is PDFTK.

I think i need not explain the function of this software, from the developer’s website, you can see this:

It’s features are:

There are many samples of how to utilize pdftk. You are urged to see the examples since this software is CLI based.But since this software is open source, there are many third party developers, developing an GUI interface for Pdftk. Almost everybody know blogdesk from blogdesk.org. It’s a full featured blog client for windows operating system. It has many features, such as:

• Multi blog engine, WP, drupal, serendipity, etc.
• Easy Technorati tag creator.
• Edit article already published.
• Multi broadcast on more than one weblog.

While you are typing, sometimes computer can stop working/hang due to some causes, such as the OS, electricity inavailability. If you haven’t saved your Microsoft Word Documents, then this will be an annoying experiences, furthermore if your document is very important and almost on it’s deadline. To overcome this problem, you could activate automatic save on Microsoft Word (XP, 2002, 2003). The steps to activate this feature are:

1. Open your document then click Tools > Options.
2. After the Options window appear, click the Save tab.
3. Change the value of Save AutoRecovery info every : with the interval where you’d like to save your document automatically.
4. Click OK to close the Options Window.
5. Ok, finished.

Below are steps you can do to share files/folders on Windows Vista:

1. Open Windows Explorer and choose folder’s location which contain files you want to share.
2. Right click on the folder and choose Share menu.
3. Add users list that will be permitted to share the file then hit Share button.
4. Sharing Items window will emerge, it means the folder is already shared.
5. After the folder being shared, Your folder is shared window will emerge.
6. Hit the Done button to close the window.
7. A shared folder will have an icon below the folder’s icon.

JLan Communicator is a software for chatting on local network. See this picture to know how to chat using JLan Communicator.

First enter your Bind address and Broadcast address. Bind Address is your IP address while the Broadcast address has “255″ suffix.

Click Connect button, and you are ready to chat, just like when chatting @ IRC.

JRE is software needed to make java applications can be executed on computer. To install JRE on your Vista computer, do these steps:

1. Download the JRE installer from http://java.sun.com.
2. Click 2X on the file.
3. Click Typical Setup and Accept on License Agreement Window.
4. Wait until installation process finished.

One important feature of HP 1020 (on Windows) is it’s manual duplex capability. Duplex means you can have text printed on both side of paper. To have this feature, you should install the software included on the Driver CD.

When you are going to print document, choose HP 1020 as the printer then click Properties button to see it’s detail configuration of HP 1020’s properties. Choose Duplex printing then follow by printing as usual.

There are many free softwares that can be used to create/make PDF file (PDF-portable document format- is a type of file usually used for e-books publishing). Here’s the list:

1. PDF Creator (free and open source, but not compatible for Vista).
2. Open Office (integrated with OpenOffice suite, including Writer, Calc, Impress, Base).
3. Ghostscripts and it’s derivatives.

There are many CHM Makers nowadays, but what i will tell you is better, since it’s Free just as beer/tea (for whom considering beer is not good ;-)) and also free just as speech (although that it’s build with VB.NET).

It’s name is MSWord2CHM, this software will change your Word .doc document into CHM by first convert it to HTML and XHTML.

Wan’t to know more, just click it’s project site from Sourceforge. It’s open source, so you don’t need to worry about malware and spyware.

PS: This software needs internet connection when converting MS Word to CHM.
