Here’s the steps:

1. Install dpkg-dev by $ sudo apt-get install dpkg-dev.
2. plug in the usb flash disk and mount it to /media/disk (usually it’s automatically detected)
3. Ciot /var/cache/apt/archieves that have .deb extension to usb flash disk by executing cd ke /var/cache/apt/archives and then sudo cp *.deb /media/disk
4. Execute $ sudo dpkg-scanpackages . /dev/null | gzip -9c > Packages.gz

Now your usb flash disk can be used as repository source on synaptic.

Most people who use microsoft excel 2007 feels that the changing is to radical, one of many complaints that emerge from existing excel user is the new file type introduced in ms excel 2007.

But, luckily, you could change the default file type for ms excel 2007 from xlsx to regular xls that can be opened by ms excel 1997-2003:

Here’s the steps:

1. Right clcik on Home Tab
2. Select customize quick access toolbar.
3. An excel options widow will emerge. This is the control panel for excel options in ms excel 2007.
4. Click on save and then click the save files in this format menu.
5. Choose Excel 97-2003 and click OK.
6. Next time you save your excel document, your workbook will be automatically saved as an xls that can be opened on ms excel 97-2003.

I have installing it perfectly and everything is just works…But suddenly when i see my WiFi, it’s not working….. After some browsing, i found out that HP Pressario C767 is using Antheros just like Acer 4520. So i have to use ndiswrapper to diswrap the antheros driver for windows so the wifi will be recognized in Ubuntu.

To download the Antheros driver for Linux, click the download section from here. After you have downloaded it, extract to a place on your hard disk. Then use ndisgtk:

Click System > administration > windows wireless driver, browse for the .inf driver for atheros

After that, you may configure the Wifi by clicking system > administration > network settings.

For example you have just execute a command on Linux’s CLI. And since the command contains sensitive information, you have to delete it from the commands’ history.

You can use the command:

history -d number_of_the_comment

For example you access a command #history to display the commands’ history on your Linux engine.

# history
1 rpm -ivh bla..bla..bla..
2 mpg123 file1.mp3
3 mail people@secret_website.com
4 history

To delete the mail command, you can use

history -d 3 [click enter]

You may also find the boxed version from novell’s website. Meanwhile the Portableapps.com also releases 3 great softwares today: Lbreakout, Clamwin and Portable Firefox 3.
