How to connect Linux to internet using Nokia E51+USBModem
KPPP (kde internet dialer) is a dialer software that enables us to internet using USB modem+Nokia E51. Do these steps to configure your KPPP hence you could browse on the Internet from your Linux:
- Open KPPP.
- Click the Modem tab then click New until Edit Modem window emerged.
- Enter your modem’s name eg:NokiaE51Modem
- Enter your modem’s device path, eg: /dev/ttyACM0
- Now open the Modem tab and click Modem Command.
- Enter AT+CGDCONT=1,?IP?,?internet?,?”,0,0 on the Initialization line String
- Click OK so you will be back to the KPPP Configuration menu .
- On Account tab, click New to make new account, choose Manual Setup.
- Enter the connection Name. This is only for identification purpose.
- On the phone number, enter the number you would like to dial (depends on your provider).
- Choose Script-based on Authentication.
- Click OK and enter your username and password informations.
- Now you’re ready to go to the Internet using NokiaE51+Linux+USBModem+Kppp
- To connect to the Internet, click Connect button.
- If you want to see some statistics of the connection, click Details.
