KPPP (kde internet dialer) is a dialer software that enables us to internet using USB modem+Nokia E51. Do these steps to configure your KPPP hence you could browse on the Internet from your Linux:

1. Open KPPP.
2. Click the Modem tab then click New until Edit Modem window emerged.
3. Enter your modem’s name eg:NokiaE51Modem
4. Enter your modem’s device path, eg: /dev/ttyACM0
5. Now open the Modem tab and click Modem Command.
6. Enter AT+CGDCONT=1,?IP?,?internet?,?”,0,0 on the Initialization line String
7. Click OK so you will be back to the KPPP Configuration menu .
8. On Account tab, click New to make new account, choose Manual Setup.
9. Enter the connection Name. This is only for identification purpose.
10. On the phone number, enter the number you would like to dial (depends on your provider).
11. Choose Script-based on Authentication.
12. Click OK and enter your username and password informations.
13. Now you’re ready to go to the Internet using NokiaE51+Linux+USBModem+Kppp
14. To connect to the Internet, click Connect button.
15. If you want to see some statistics of the connection, click Details.

I have just faced difficulties installing XP on an Acer Laptop, then i need bootable disk. Here’s methods to create a bootable disk from Windows XP:

1. Your computer should have a floppy disk drive.Then insert your disk into the drive.
2. Open Windows Explorer, right-click on the A: drive and click Format menu.
3. Check the Create an MS-DOS startup disk on Format Window.
4. Click Start to format the disk as a bootable disk.
5. After finished, eject the disk, and voila, you already have bootable disk that will boots your computer into DOS.

If you have unlimited and fast internet connection, you could copy files in PCLOS’ repository into your local folder. If you want to copy those files, then you should copy them on right arrangement, what i mean was the arrangement that is similar to the original repository on the Internet.

You don’t have to install all folders, the most important is RPMS.extra, RPMS.kde, RPMS.main, RPMS.nonfree, RPMS.kde4, RPMS.sam and base.

For example you could copy all files into /mnt/installer/localRep

The next thing you have to do is specifying that path into /etc/apt/sources.list. Write the path on the top lines of the sources.list file. You could use gedit or vi to do this. The text you have to write is:

rpm file:/mnt/installer/localRep

If you don’t want to write it manually using text editor, you could use synaptic either.

I still remember the early era of Windows XP (year 2002 until 2003), every system administrator knows what Partition Magic is. It used to be best disk partition software on earth. It was the property of PowerQuest until suddenly was acquired by Symantex.

This software is a damn great partition manager/disk partitioning software. But what i don’t understand is why symantex didn’t continue the development of this superb software.

Although i am currently a keen user of QParted, but this software will always be in my memory since this software was my great friend in my early days as an system administrator.

I am a keen fan of thunderbird, since it’s full featured, free and also opensource. I used to think that Thunderbird is the only single solution of portable e-mail client on windows. But from Hackosis blog, i found out that there is one more portable app email client named Koma Mail.

You might be already know some softwares to create PDF, eg: Adobe Acrobat, GhostScript, PDFCreator, OpenOffice etc. You might be already know some softwares to edit PDF too, eg: Adobe Acrobat, Foxit PDF Editor.

Most of the PDF Editor softwares are proprietary and commercial. But i just found out that there is a reliable free and opensource PDF editor from accesspdf.com (used to be pdfhacks.com). It’s name is PDFTK.

Almost everybody know blogdesk from blogdesk.org. It’s a full featured blog client for windows operating system. It has many features, such as:
