Computer Virus is malware that can make your computer slower, not only that, it will also make your computer more prone to identitfy theft (when doing e-banking or opening email account for example). Your internet connection can turn out to be heavy since the virus increase the use of your internet traffic either (usually for spam).
Below are some steps i suggest you to deal with the Virus:

1. Change your OS to Linux, well Linux is more robust than Windows. Since users of Linux is less than users of Windows, it decrease the amount of virus programmer interested on making virus that will run under Linux. If you are new to Linux, i suggest you to use Ubuntu (escpecially if you are connected to internet). Installing and removing software is very easy on Ubuntu, besides it’s the top linux distro in the world.
2. If you can’t change your OS to Linux, then the second choice i suggest is MacOS. Although there are many viruses that run under MacOS, but the chance of getting infected is smaller than running Windows on your machine since the amount of virus on MacOS is smaller that those virus run under Windows.
3. Use anti virus, confused when choosing anti virus, Click this link to see what wikipedia suggests. Free anti virus is sometimes more reliable than commercial anti virus.
